Finds of the week so far.

Dunno why but I thought the crab and bird were cute.I really am not a kitchy person but thought these would be fun on kids craft wall section (one day) They have hangers for the wall and pockets for letters or things and Master 6 has a thing for  crabs he is always drawing them so he will love that one.Tartan pillowcases Why? Cos  Miss 8s surname is McGregor and she  loves tartan anything.A broderie anglaise pillowcase to cut up a patchwork ruler and a large cane tray.

Some great unused patterns cant wait to sew some kids dresses from 70s sheets have seen some beautiful ones like that lately. One on top right has Christy Brinkly on cover I will be making this top.Bottom right is a 70s pattern $1 the lot
3  mags cant wait to read and more doileys. Oh and I got another Notebook mag yay am getting the set together slowly.

Kids books. Some will be turned into buntings using the pictures, (a great way to use damaged book).Have you seen them?If not I found this awesome blogger yesterday who makes so many yummy things including Buntings.

Cotton petticoat- vintage ,green dress A woven straw bangle and 2 enamel, one in turquoise and they fit .I have  big (milkmaid so my mum called them )  hands like my grans so  bangles are hard to find that fit and some drop glass aqua coloured earings

And a cute dark grey top which I hope fits.
This 70s wedding dress (way too hot to model ) I had my eye on for a couple of weeks.Think I will try and get one dress from each era doing well so far.

It has a huge train that can be unclipped Would also make a great Medieval dress.
A gorgeous chenille Double bedspread (will most likely sell it) A craft book An old coffee jar I have a few of these with red lids and this one was only 50c I know they sell for alot more elswhere and this lovely Hecworth ESPN bowl.Worth more than the 50c I paid.

Chenille Label
And this lovely lace single bedspread another one I will be selling methinks.
More wool oh dear I better get those needles out.More lace and a deck of cards from Fiji (my sister is married to a Fijian and 3 little kids that are ever so cute)

This is vintage fabric loved the bird there are 3 birds in total as its about 2 metres long. Not very wide and the bottom is hemmed so may have been cutains at one time.I am thinking maybe cushions? (couldnt get the pic to go the right way grr)
This is a beautiful scarf (not a colour I wear so I will be selling it eventually)

In my jarmies and was sooooo sweaty so was a quick shot thanks Miss 8
Well I think thats the lot.Tomorrow is head down and bottoms up with craft area re-arranging and hopefully some crafty stuff.

Happy Treasure Hunting everyone.

PS you all know I am a crazy collector right? If not now you do, well here are some cool rulers I shall add to what I have already  they are retro and bring back memories from 70s and 80s.School years.

Nelly, I want to see you in the wedding dress too, please! I'd be dying it pink and hacking it off mid-thigh. It's a crime for it not to be worn.
We Brits always called those bedspreads "candlewick". xxx

Hello La Nightshade! That retro wedding dress is far out! Superior find! I think it'd go well with the lovely scarf...maybe worn in hair?

And I love the idea of re-purposing lace as Victorian style underskirts, or peeping out from costuming sleeves, etc.

The bird pattern cloth is gorgeous! I like the idea of cushions...they'd also make good carrying bags...shame to cut them up though, too lovely.

Hope you are sitting pretty in optimum health my friend! I do hope you will model the 70's wedding gown...and may the weather get not so darn hot and sticky, ew.

Yours, The Widow Next

I like crabs too! Maybe it's the way they walk or it could be their claws. Regardless I have a quilt with blue crabs all over it and some matching pillows.

Maybe I am just CrAbBy
