Not a lot of Frocking going on

Just cant be bovered (yere I know its not spelt that way) A  little bit lost/frustrated/unmotivated  at the moment  but I have one dress  to share to keep you happy. I hope lol.
Got this dress a couple weeks back $6
 Loved the pattern

But didnt like the sleeves and the length was crazy did we have amazon ladies in the 70s or was it the huge heels?

So I took off the Sleeves
Photo taken by my gigantic son.
and took it in and up

So much better even had a compliment from an older fella who said thats a nice dress.ha ha

Now on the homefront.....

Baby son who is 6ft 5 but still my baby graduated school forever today.Last of my own 4 an end of an era.
No he wouldnt smile coz he is wayyy too cool.lol
Last guinea pig was caught( by the cat) and rescued byMiss 8 unharmed and happily reunited with its brethren.

And a few treasures found.....
1970s stone braclet
 a box
with a vintage gold oroton bag (doesnt look gold here but it is very gold)
which has been autographed (any ideas how to remove most of this?) was $2
a heap of records no not cutting this lot up.(Village people is for son as a joke remember his dress up a few weeks back?)
and a cute girl on velvet

a few books
my 1st pair mens vintage swimmers
a huge old dictionary over 2000 pages for a dollar.
lotsa purple curtains and bed cover
and a lovely vintage fabric bag

I also have things happening at Face Book go see HERE Record bag up for grabs too.
Have to offload some of my things so stay tuned.

Love the alteration, very flattering.

Oh, Nelly. What fun you are. Your son is very handsome. We used to take ink off with aerosol hairspray. May not be made with same stuff now???????????

You've done a great job on that dress. I'm not 'precious' about vintage clothes and am all for adjusting clothes to suit. After all, there's no point in keeping them in a cupboard and not wearing them. Nice one, Nelly!

Gorgeous remake on the dress, stunning! What a fab haul you got! Surely there'll be a how t6o remove biro clue on Google. Love your post :~)

The alterations you have made on that frock have worked a treat, you look great in it!
Oh my goodness, look at your Baby Son! I can't believe he's so TALL!

You scored lots of lovely things, fabulous bags, hope you can get the pen off the Oroton one. Do you think the original owner was taking some handsome chap's phone number?!
Have a good weekend, hope you get your mojo back soon, honey! xxxxxxx

You've transformed that dress, it looked frumpy before and fabulous now. The colour and print are so pretty on you. x

Love the dress Nelly and the makeover is fab! Congrats to you and the Captain and your handsome son on his graduating. You must be one proud mumma but I guess there is a little sadness there as well seeing your last baby grow into a young man!
Some lovely treasures you have shared. My daughter would covet the pretty purple fabrics.
I'm still not back to blogging. A bad case of the blahs and much on the plate, then Christmas is coming. I will be back but just when I don't know. I wonder if we all get a little tired and overwhelmed at this time of year? Have a wonderful weekend my far away friend. Hugs xx

That dress is sooooo much better now - you are one talented woman! FAb finds as ever. Laughed when I saw the LPs - I've been re-discovering my vinyl recently.

Congrats to your son. xx

Oh Nelly that dress looks great on you ESPECIALLY with the alterations you have done.

I have not done a blog post in like 2 weeks. *EEAAK* I am working on a post.. but it gets darn dark so early I always forget to take pictures earlier.

I like all your finds.
(No idea how to get the pen out of the bag. Jeaz it must have been very important to it's original owner if they had to go mark it all up.)

Is the bed cover the one on the left hand side? If so it looks gorgeous. I am obsessed with vintage bedding right now. (Well maybe I always have been I dunno.)
*hehh*

Phew, glad the guinea pig situation has ended happily!

You look fabulous in the dress, I'm exceedingly envious of your slim upper arms that you can just whip sleeves off like that. I think my arms are my worst feature :-(

Love the bag too, I'd keep the phone number on it, gives it character!

Taking those sleeves out was an inspired move - it looked a bit baggy before and now it has pizazz. Hope you get your mojo back soon.

Hi Nelly - yesterday I received a One Lovely Blog award. One of the requirements is to nominate 5 blogs in return. I just HAD to include you even though I would have preferred an award that was perhaps a bit more zany. I hope you enjoy it in the spirit in which it is meant. I love your blog as it is such a lot of fun! - Sharon xx

Oops - I forgot I - I'm supposed to tell you to check out the details of the award on my blog!! Sharon

Oh Nelly, you took that dress from slightly "bleh" to SMASHING! What a beautiful & figure flattering design & who woulda thunk it?! You're simply amazing. How come you don't have an Etsy store Nell? You REALLLY should.

What a verrry handsome lad! They grow up way too fast don't they. I took my 6 ft. GRANDson for his senior portraits last year & cried & had to leave. Then he had the nerve to turn 18 & go off to college! *siiigh*

To add to what rkbsnana said above about the ink stain, several years ago I had a puppy that chewed up an ink pen on brand new carpet. I panicked because I knew the puppy wouldn't survive if Big Daddy saw it so I called a carpet company & they told me to shoot the heck out of it with hairspray & NOT rub it and darn but if it didn't disappear. The puppy lives :- )

Feel better soon Nelly. We're thinking of you & hoping a beautiful, bright day is coming your way.

That dress looks SO much improved by its re-styling: really flattering and unique actually.
I'm beginning to contemplate what it will be like leaving/living away from home after college. It goes very fast for us teens too!

Oh yeah baby #4 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too cool for school - no wonder you're feeling a bit flat, Year 12 is just as tricky for parents isn't it? So off to schoolies then? Hmmmmmmmm????? Wow end of an era hon!! What a haul - love the girl on velvet:)) xoxooxooxxo

Love the maxi! Congrats to your son on graduating. I wonder what the records in the handbag were for?

For someone who can't be bothered you still look lovely in your re-fashioned blue dress Nelly.

Isn't hairspray meant to do the trick? (to remove the ink from your Oroton)
