I know they must be still around but I think its often the case of who you know rather than what. I do know that Nicole from Circa
whos blog I stole borrowed this picture from, knows many things about vintage and knows many people involved in Vintage and she was so very lucky to get these beauties.
I just would love to have me at least one wouldnt you?
Yes it very much IS a case of who you know-personally I find that networking really pays off in many ways and access to stock is just one of those ways. It's great when stock comes to me instead of having to go and look for it! Mannies like that are extremely rare though.
Hello from Texas. Just dropping in tonight and enjoyed reading your blog. I have never seen the kind of mannequins you have pictured. They are truly beautiful!
Nelly they have so much more personality than modern day mannequins don't they! I often see things and think now where did they get that? If envy is a sin I'm in big trouble LOL :)
haha oh goodness these costumes are so cute!!! I love the rockstar and pippi longstocking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh no our buildings where I live are nothing like what I posted in that Cape May town in NJ. I live 3 hours away from that place. I live only 20 minutes from NYC, so our houses vary from looking all apartment looking brick plain buildings to just regular little houses of plain taste.
I wasn't pretty at 13. . well I was but didn't know it. Everyone called me ugly back then and I had no friends, so really having the shaved eyebrows just made it much worse. I didn't really draw them in anymore once my eyebrows were somewhat visible (so they just looked grey most of the time). Thanks for the comment!!
We saw the most amazing Victorian dress form with paper mache head and attached metal cage crinoline. It was in beautiful condition and sold for $875! I had wanted to bid on it but not at that price:). These are pretty cool!
Hi Nelly, I was just writing to you...serendipity. Hair no better, my daugher told me I looked like Princes Mary's drop kick pregnant sister (no offence mum!) My husband makes comments like "Can you go back and ask them to do somethin?" I tell him it is like returning soup at a restaurant...you know it will come back with spit in it. Sigh. I will just have to continuously wash my hair and develop some obscure dermititus! Back to you...yes I would desperately want oneof those beauties. I think people have 'connections' but when asked who the connections are they change the subject. Have a goodweekend

I have no idea where people find these, but I'd love to know that's for sure!
