Eldest daughter (one with Bi-polar ) has got herself in trouble again. What does a mother do?I have cried myself out over the years and every time she sounds like she is getting sorted she stops her meds and off she goes again. My fear is that I will get a knock on the door one day telling me something awful.Just found out her cervical cancer cells are back and knowing her she wont get it treated. She lives hours away otherwise Id drag her to get it done.We will be getting her 6 month old son soon but thats another story.

I didn't have a clue what it was, lol. I hope you're doing ok darling, it sounds like you have a lot going on right now. If I was nearby I'd come over & give you a big hug!
P.S. I'm glad you changed the commenting format, it seems to be working for me again now!
Well now.. That is a very cool WATZIT! Now you will probably find instructions and make yarn flowers out the WAZZOOOO!
Sorry to hear about your daughter I hope things with her get sorted out for the better.
I am glad your man is recovering well. (Snoring is the un-silent killer)*silly face* I get so annoyed when Mr. Coconut snores! *uhggg*

Glad others have worked out your Watzit! I haven't seen one before.
You do have a lot on your plate - hope things get a little easier sometime soon.
How did you change your comments? Just wondered, because I don't seem to be getting many coming through on mine.... but maybe it's just me!?
cheers Wendy
I had no idea what that thing was either. I thought it may have been for French knitting? Ha!
Hey, sorry to hear about your daughter and her problems. Wishing you lots of good things. xx
Oh Darling you're amazing, so glad you're maintaing your sense of humour ... you're a wonderful woman ... HUGE HUGS and know you're much loved in Blogland ♥
Yayyyyyy you fixed it too ♥ what a woman You are :~)
That must be really hard Nelly, your kids are your kids no matter how old or what they do. You hang on in there. You're so fun and bubbly, reading your posts always cheers me up, xx
I'm sorry things have been tough at the moment! It's your blog so if you have to vent do it. I'm crossing my fingers the Captain's snoring has been fixed so you can sleep in your own bed again!
Em xx
yup....a flower making thingy. Looks a bit like a key to the portal of another world in a film starring someone like Nicholas Cage...
Sorry things aren't so great just now...chin up lovely and hope it all gets worked out.

I thought it looked like some kind of gizmo from Doctor Who! Glad someone's solved the mystery for you.
Sorry to hear about your daughter, I can't imagine how difficult that must be. I'm sure you'll come through whatever life throws at you with your usual aplomb, however. x
I thought some kind of French Knitting device.
Sorry to hear things are rough, that's the beauty of blogging, you can write down your worries and you'll get both support and love from friends across the world, a problem shared is a problem solved.
My thoughts are with you. x
Sorry Nelly to hear that all is not well. I feel for you I really do. You are a better person than most, so stick with it, tomorrow is another day and hopefully you will feel brighter.
After discovering flower looms last year, it is indeed one. It may be for more delicate thread instead of wool.
Sending warm wishes, Tam x
Glad you've sorted out what that whatsit is but sorry to hear about your daughter. Difficult times.... Hugsxxxxx
Thankfully everyone else is far cleverer than me and they have solved your Watzit issue. I wouldn't have known.
Hope the snoring op is a success. Toilet training - one of my least favourite jobs of parenthood, or grandparenthood in your case! Especially in THOSE circumstances - yukky! Hahahaha!
I'm so sorry your daughter is unwell, it must be an awful worry for you. Feel free to vent as much as you need to, we're here to listen. xxxxxxxxxxx
I had no idea! A wonder what a yarn flower looks like? I have an aunt with bipolar so i have an inkling of the stress your under. I really wish they'd allow medication inplants for some folk aye, it's got to be more ethical than letting someone getting sick over and over again x
Wow, you will have to try making those flowers, they sound great! Glad The Captain is well, I used to use ear plugs if Mr M snored but now I have kids I need to be able to listen out for them. Hope your daughter gets back on track. Sherry
Having known a number of bipolar people I can empathise...it's very tough on those around them. Sincere best wishes to you and your family.xx.
I used to have one of those - we made daisies with it, and they end up really cute!
Hope that it all works out for you with your family - it must be hard for you ... hugs ...
Hi Darling Nelly,
Methinks it could be a thingy that creates a rotating marker in fabric to stitch a line, or design? or, possibly loom thingy to make woolen flowers?
Love Penni xxx
Thought the thingy might be for weaving something and very curious to see these flowers everyone is talking about. You are an amazing mother and grandma to all these kids, your daughter is lucky to have you and we will all love seeing a new bubba on your blog. melx
Nelly Hon, I also wanted to let you know that my heart goes out to you with your daughter. Having Bipolar Disorder is such difficult journey for both the sufferer and their family, especially when one comes off their meds. Meds compliance can be a hard thing for sufferers as often when they are feeling good, they think that they don't need their meds anymore and come off them! There is only so much you can do to help. But Knowing you, I am sure that you are, and have continuously been, supporting her in every way possible! You also need to look after YOU Sweetie, and you are in no way responsible for her choices as an adult. I am always here if you ever need to chat! Love your friend, Penni xxx
Awww sweetie, i am sorry to read about your daughter its so very hard being a mum sometimes. we always want to protect our children we spend all their childhood keeping them away from harm and then they grow up and start to make their own choices etc and its horrible when you know its the wrong ones. I hope things improve. Great news that the Captain's op went well. And well that WATZIT i have never seen one either but i would love to now see what yarn flowers look like ;-)) Take lots of care, dee xx
Life has a habit of fixing something and then throwing a spanner into the works again doesn't it? Glad your hubby is ok but so sorry to hear about your daughter. Hope everything works out. Sending a big hug. Keep that lovely smile on your face. M x
Ah Nelly, I'm so sorry to hear about the problems with your daughter. I've been there / done that (my son is a clean addict for 5 years - thank God) but one thing I learned in what seems like a lifetime of heartache is that no one can MAKE anyone do anything they don't want to do. It HAS to be a change the person comes to on their own. And that goes for anything - depression, alcoholism, addiction. As much as we love them & want to make them all better, we can't & it will only happen when they make that choice. I hope my words (and heartfelt compassion) help in some little way. My heart hurts for you & your family. I can't imagine having a baby at my age, but more & more grandparents are having to take the role of parents. We just had our grandson through his high school years (a teenager!! Waah!) & now he's off to college. We do what we must and love them with all our hearts. Oh brother, I'm rambling & taking up too much space here! Just want to tell you my heart is with you & DO spill it out here - where else ya gonna find THIS MANY girlfriends to circle you with love & ((HUGS))!
BTW - very waaay cool flower loom! (wouldn't have guessed that in a million years!) Hey maybe you could incorporate it into that new lamp shade cover you're going to make! (*giggle*)
Hi Nelly!
I don't know what this WAtzit is but it looks like fancy old doorknob. Your potty training story made me smile, my 2 year old nephew like to run outside naked and shit in the street, ok he has only done this once but these stories crack me up!
I'm so sorry to here about your daughter. I don't know anyone who is bipolar but I can imagine it can be crippling if not treated. I am sending you love and positive vibes. Not only are you a wonderful Mother but I think you are the best Grannie our world has known.
Hugs~
Krista
Firstly i have no clue!
Secondly, sorry to hear about your daughter. Hope she sorts herself out. (big hugs!)
X x
Hello my sugar sweet friend! Your little liddy thing is cute, I have no idea what it is. Thank you for sharing your bipolar issues with us. I have three very close people in my life that struggle with bi polar and it is soooooooo TOUGH not to just flip out on them and their recklessness, best to just take it to Jesus I guess! Anyhoo, nice to discover you.
Hugs,
Olivia
Oh Nelly I don't know how I missed the remainder of your post yesterday about your daughter but I just want to say you're incredible. As some previous posters have mentioned experiences, I can say the same having a brother with a mental illness. We have been throuh so many bouts of him thinking he can handle things off his meds. Anyways I just want to send you much love and patience you are clearly a very dedicated Nanna. X
I always though you'd be an amazing person Nelly...this only confirms it. Sending love and all the positive energy I can muster your way. Take care x
I'm a bit late commenting here - sorry Nelly I am trying to reduce internet time - anyway,...I think you rock - truly - to bring up your own kids is not easy but then to repeat it with the grandkids? Well blimey that's something else. Yes we do what we have to but still that's awesome.
Keep smiling - you're amazing. :)
